There is a particular kind of magic in the hours between sunset and sunrise. The world grows quieter, familiar things become mysterious, and the sky seems to invite us to look a little longer.
In partnership with Pax Christi Chorale, members of the Canadian Chamber Orchestra invites you into the night for From Dusk to Dawn: an immersive musical journey through darkness, moonlight, starlight, dreams, and the first light of morning.
Bringing together choir, strings, and immersive lighting, this richly atmospheric program moves through the many faces of night. Music by Emery, Raminsh, Ho, Debussy, Elgar, Thompson, Whitacre, and others explores the stillness of twilight, the vastness of the night sky, the intimacy of darkness, and the sense of possibility that arrives with dawn.
At the heart of the program is Ola Gjeilo's Dark & Luminous Night, a work that seems to exist somewhere between earth and sky, suspended in that fleeting space where darkness becomes light.
This is music to lose yourself in.
