The Canadian Chamber Orchestra is supported by an alumni grant and mentorship from the New World Symphony BLUE (Build, Learn, Understand, Experiment) program, which empowers the NWS network of artistic entrepreneurs to redefine the future of classical music through inclusive community and equity-focused initiatives. NWS BLUE projects are made possible with support from the Maxine and Stuart Frankel Foundation and NWS’s Fund for New Ventures.
A Message from the Artistic Directors
We are thrilled to welcome you to the debut performance of the Canadian Chamber Orchestra!
A little over a year ago, we were chatting during the intermission of a concert we were playing in together and telling each other about projects we were working on. We quickly learned that we had both been dreaming about starting a self-directed chamber orchestra for many years but simply did not have the time and the resources to undertake such a big project on our own. One coffee date later and a vision was born that would quickly become the Canadian Chamber Orchestra.
Toronto has a rich and diverse arts and culture scene, and we are so excited to be adding to the artistic milieu of this wonderful city. As co-artistic directors, we have cultivated a program of shorter works that showcases the talents of our remarkable musicians, composers, and celebrates the diversity of musical expression. We are inviting you into our “living room” to enjoy the music that has inspired us, connected us, and brought us so much joy throughout our musical lives. We are honoured to be working with some of the country’s finest musicians as we begin our journey as an ensemble.
Your presence here tonight is a testament to your love and appreciation for the arts, and we are grateful for your support. We hope that this concert will be the first of many memorable performances that we will share with you in the future. We invite you connect with us directly, and please consider supporting the CCO through our partnership with Chamber Factory, a non-profit organization that collects donations and issues tax receipts on behalf of many phenomenal arts organizations in Toronto.
Thank you for being a part of this special evening, welcome to the CCO’s living room, and we look forward to sharing the transformative power of music with you.
